What is Periodontal Maintenance?
Periodontal maintenance helps to slow and prevent the progression of periodontal disease. Our periodontal maintenance treatment deep cleans your teeth and gums by removing any plaque buildup. This treatment helps to maintain gum and bone health, prevent tooth loss, and restores your gums.
What is Periodontal Scaling and Root Planing?
Scaling and Root Planing cleans and removes the sticky layer of plaque on the root and tooth surfaces. This is a non-surgical procedure that helps to shrink periodontal pockets where bacteria collects. Scaling and root planing helps to heal the infected gum tissue, and prevents further infection. Gums recede less and this treatment restores gums that are damaged from gum disease.
